National Leaders of Education (NLE)

Mrs R Littler

Rose Littler is Headteacher of Liscard Primary school with extensive and varied leadership experience. Mrs Littler is a National Leader in Education who has supported a range of schools with very positive outcomes. Her leadership strengths relate particularly to working with schools in challenging circumstances, undertaking whole school reviews to establish clear priorities. Rose has supported schools in creating a clear vision and galvanising support to translate the vision into reality. This has been achieved through building a school’s sense of pride, ensuring pupil engagement, developing leadership teams to support improvement, creating data analysis systems, strengthening teaching, learning and assessment as well as implementing rigorous  monitoring and self-evaluation procedures.

What a NLE does

NLEs usually work with schools identified as being in need of significant improvement by the Department for Education, Ofsted, a teaching school, a regional schools commissioner, local authority or diocese.

Your work would be tailored to the needs of the supported school. You can get involved in different ways, including:

  • working alongside their staff
  • working alone
  • your staff providing support under your initial direction

We maintain a school-to-school support directory for people looking to commission the services of NLEs and other system leaders. You would negotiate a deal to provide your services with the relevant local authority, school or other organisation.
