How to apply

Training places for 2020/21 in the Weatherhead Teaching School Alliance will be available on the UCAS website in October

You can  view these on the UCAS site and begin to complete an application form.

This can then be submitted in the first round of applications (Apply 1) which is now open.

If you are successful in being offered a place, you may train in any of the schools listed. We place you by matching your needs to the needs of the school.

The fees are £9250, paid to LJMU. You may be entitled to a bursary – for information click here.

Gaining school experience is essential.  We can support applicants to gain additional school experience following the interview stage.  Simply state any experience, plus your commitment to gain experience, to submit your application and we can take it forward from there.

You can also sign up for the School Experience Programme, for assistance with finding opportunities to spend time in schools and subject areas.

Application Process

It is a competitive process and even though the UCAS window is open from October to mid July, we strongly recommend applying as early as possible as the number of allocated places fill extremely quickly.

Candidates will be required to take Maths, English and Science skills tests as part of the application process, and to have passed both these tests by May for September entry.
